Self-Care Strategies

Self-Care is a great way to improve mental health and maintain a positive mindset. There are countless ways to practice self-care and I’ll be highlighting a few today.








De-clutter your room or work space:

Spending a few minutes cleaning and tidying up your space can make a big difference, and can even make a noticeable difference in your mood. When you have too many things going through your mind, take a break and de-clutter or clean your space. It will create a space where you can feel relaxed and not feel added stress by the surrounding clutter.


Read:

Reading is a great way to be alone and relax without having to be anxious and stressed by your own thoughts. It can give you a break for an hour or so just to unwind and ease your mind. Reading is also a great thing to do before bed instead of being on your phone.


Un-Plug:

Constant notifications and online distractions can take up a big chunk of time. Taking a few hours or longer to “unplug” can make a big impact on your mental health. Spend some time in nature and become familiar with your surroundings.


Go to bed earlier:

Getting enough sleep is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Lack of sleep can make your day and normal daily activities difficult. If you start by going to sleep a few minutes earlier each night you will eventually reach a goal time such as 1 hour earlier.
